Port of Callao Strike

Unfortunately, West Coast Industrial Express has been advised that port workers in Callao, Peru have commenced an indefinite strike. Due to the indefinite duration of the strike, the Carrier intends to bypass Callao and discharge the cargo on the M/V Industrial Egret v 901008 at the port of Pisco. This action of the Carrier is being taken pursuant to Clause 14 ©, (d), and (e) of the bill of lading. The current estimated arrival at Pisco is May 15, 2000 hrs.

The agent for WCIE in Peru is Transmares and they can be contacted at locally at (511) 619-5000. Transmares has already started contacting consignees to alert them of this matter so that the receivers can make arrangements to receive cargo at the port of Pisco.
